Sure, you may have your Series A financing, and you may have presented at the Boulder Denver Tech Meetup to great acclaim, but you’re nothing until your name is on the Spud Bros. menu board.

We’re holding a contest to see who or what company deserves their name in flashing lights on the Spud Bros. menu board. Tell us why you or your company deserve to have a dish named after you and get a spot on the coveted board. You can choose an existing dish or even create your own dish out of our ingredients.

Anyone can design a favorite that they keep coming back for, and we’ll enter it into a computer to remember for your next visit. After all, Spud Bros. is a democracy unlike your other sources for fries. We listen to what you want, and you don’t even have to use Get Satisfaction! But not just everybody gets on the menu board. It’s like the equivalent of getting Google stock options in 1999.

So @spudbros us or leave a comment below to tell us why you deserve your own menu item at Spud Bros. Winner also gets four larges of their namesake dish for them and their friends, their picture on our blog, a Spud Bros. t-shirt and of course a spot on the menu board.*

*This may take awhile due to technical difficulties with the menu. After all, we create fries, not code.

Love it! We have found ourselves down on Pearl Street looking for a snack several times now and Spud Bro’s fries have been great every time. You can make it a snack or a meal (chicken, chili, and tons of other choices) and contrary to the health comment in a previous review, these fries are healthy. You can get them several ways including ‘baked’, no fat. Check it out! Who doesn’t love fries?!

In a storm of right and left brain activity, our fair town’s food critic was caught in a quandary: do I appease my taste-buds and give in to the simple, delicious spuds or do I over think things, revert back to my culinary school training and hold potatoes to the same standard as fine dining staples like “seared tuna with sake-yuzu sorbet”? To us, the answer’s easy…trust your ‘buds lady!

I’m betting this Daily Camera critic was taken aback by the simple concept of one type of food served with speed and delicious combination possibilities; she was likely gasping “where are the pressed linens, the polished silver and…tiny, overpriced portions?!”

Well, if you’re looking for that type of atmosphere Pearl Street offers plenty of options, but like a golden fry in a sea of soggy taters, Spud Brothers is there to welcome you home from the hunger storm.

I’ll Tell You Where You Can Park It

With the students filling up Boulder, we know parking will be even more scarce than usual. If the City of Boulder is filling up its coffers by issuing parking tickets, we’d like to put some of the money back in your pocket. Bring in your parking ticket the day it is issued, and we’ll give you a $1 off your order during the month of September. By saving you a $1, maybe you’ll have the quarters you need next time to fill the meter. Plus, we’ll feature the parking ticket “convicts” on the blog.

Spud Bros. on Stampede

As we’ve stated earlier, Spud Bros. really loves the Golden Buffalo marching band. Tomorrow is the start of a great CU Boulder tradition – the Pearl Street Stampede – where the marching band will serenade us Pearl Street dwellers around 7 pm.

We’ve found French fry lovers to be music aficionados, so we’ll be passing out balloons with a special offer – bring in the balloon and a $1 of your order goes to the band and you’ll receive a free bottomless drink. If you’re looking for a good way to skirt some work on Friday, come cheer on the marching band and than come enjoy some fries with us. We’ll be at every Stampede, so consider this your new Friday tradition.

The Brad Feld Special

Brad Feld of the Foundry Group and Mobius Venture Capital ran marathon number 12 in Idaho this weekend. We were excited to have him in our home state and proud of his mission of raising money for charity. To congratulate Brad on running 26 miles, we decided to honor this road warrior with a free meal on us. I mean the man has run more than 300 miles in marathons. Let’s feed him.

If you’re thinking, well I run a lot and Spud Bros. hasn’t given me a free meal – you’re right. So to honor all of the runners out there, we have a new “Brad Feld” special. Rob thanks for the shout out! Spud Bros. are lovers of your homeland. We’re fans of Tip Top Ice Cream, the All Blacks, rowing the Waikato and the surf at Mt. Manganui. We even have a guy that claims he can do the Haka!
